In August of 1990 and 1992, the troop visited Mead Wilderness Base near Squam Lake in New Hampshire, the site where the movie On Golden Pond takes place. Here, scouts enjoyed a full week of High Adventure activities, including rock climbing, camping, hiking, canoeing and mountain biking. On one day, the troop also got to sail across the lake in their canoes using rain tarps as sails, demonstrating the troop’s ingenuity.
