In the 2010s, the Troop started regularly attending Operation Zero at Sabattis Adventure Camp in Long Lake, NY. This cold-weather camping adventure tests scouts’ cold-weather camping knowledge and skills. At Operation Zero, participants can expect to partake in a high-adventure winter camping expedition where they build and sleep in quinzhees (sort of like an igloo) and go snowshoeing, sledding, ice fishing, curling, snowmobiling, winter tracking and more. Unfortunately, the trip can only run if there is enough snow, so for a few years in a row, the trip was cancelled.
