Whenever the troop would drive down to the Pine Barrens, we would go canoeing down the long, winding Wading River. We would be outfitted by a local company with life jackets, paddles, and everything the troop would need for the day on the river. Usually, the troop would canoe down the Wading River, stop for lunch along the way, and end the day back at the campsite. On Saturday evening, scouts would play football, Frisbee, and, of course, tell stories around the campfire.
