This trip has been popular for some time and is somewhat of a Spring Break getaway. Usually during Spring Break, the troop heads down to Washington D.C. for four days and three nights to explore our country’s capital. One year we’ve even toured the White House or Capitol Building (thanks to a connection a scout and his parent had). The past few times the troop has gone, they’ve stayed in a very luxurious cabin with a full-kitchen, plenty of bunk beds, private bathrooms and even showers – that’s a rarity on scouting trips! We hike along an historic trail to earn a medal and visit historic buildings along the way. It’s a very cool trip, especially when you get to see the United States Capital and experience this country’s rich history.
